THE DANGERS OF W.O.F!!! The Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing!

COMING SOON!

An in depth study on the dangers of the Word of Faith movement!  At first glance, many would question the danger part of this “faith”.  How can “faith” be dangerous?  It is listed in the scriptures as one of the 9 fruits of the Spirit, and one of the 10 gifts of the Spirit!  It becomes dangerous and skewed when any one of the gifts or fruit becomes emphasized to the exclusion of the others.   It then becomes a central focus by which the other gifts or fruit orbit around.  That is out of balance, and ultimately leads to false doctrines.

Many of the teachings of the Word of Faith movement I will attempt to reveal here, but for sake of time, I will dilute into 3 salient points of WOF doctrine and then break those down into minor doctrines that arose from them, many of which are not scripturally based and fit the definition of heresy!

  1.  GOD IS OBLIGATED TO PERFORM YOUR WORDS!
  2. GOD’S FAVOR RESULTS IN PROSPERITY AND WEALTH!
  3. HUMANS ARE “LITTLE GODS” WHO HAVE A FAITH FORCE!

First of all, Word of Faith is not a denomination or a formal organization.  However, it has been heavily influenced by a number of high profile pastors and teachers over the years such as Kenneth Hagin, Kenneth Copeland, Paul and Jan Crouch, Fred Price, Benny Hin, Jesse Duplantis and Creflo Dollar.  The WOF movement grew out of some of the earlier 20th century Pentecostal movements.  Its founder can be traced back to E.W. Kenyon who studied metaphysical “new thought” teachings of Phineas Quimby.  It became known as “thought science” where name it and claim it first originated.  This form of out of balanced interpretation of scripture, mixed with Pentacostalism, resulted in a strange mix of unorthodox Christianity and mysticism!  Individual teachings range from outright ridiculous to blatant blasphemy and heresy!  At the heart of ALL WOF teachings is the belief in the “force of faith”.  It is taught that your words can manipulate the “faith force” and actually create health, wealth and prosperity!  Laws that govern this “faith force” are said to operate independently of God’s sovereign will and that God  himself is subject to these laws! That in itself should be enough to turn any serious minded believer away from such rubbish and back to the Word of GOD which will expose the WOF doctrine for what it is!  Doctrines of devils!   This teaching on its own is nothing short of idolatry, turning our faith, and by extension ourselves, into “gods”!  This sounds a lot like the lie that was offered to tempted mankind in the garden!  Just one bite of that fruit and you could become as “gods”!  Satan is always peddling the same lies, he just now tries to use perverted gospel to trick believers into thinking they are more than they really are!  Why do you think the Apostle Paul gave this warning to believers in his day?  Romans 12:3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
